Rent Increase Notice (NI)
Northern Ireland's Private Tenancies Act 2022 introduced a statutory rent-increase procedure for private tenancies: from 1 April 2025, rent cannot be raised more than once every 12 months, the tenant must receive at least 3 months' written notice in the prescribed form, and the notice must contain specified information or it is invalid. The 3-month rule also applies for the first 12 months from the start of any new tenancy.
