Northwich is a market town in Cheshire West and Chester, situated on the River Weaver and the River Dane, approximately 18 miles south of Manchester, 16 miles east of Chester, and 20 miles south-west of Manchester Airport. With a population of approximately 46,000, Northwich is one of the larger towns within Cheshire West and Chester Borough Council (which also encompasses Chester, Ellesmere Port, and Winsford). The Cheshire Oaks Designer Outlet (approximately 14 miles west via the A556/M56) and the Trafford Centre (approximately 18 miles north-east via the M56) provide major retail destinations accessible from Northwich.
